Press Release details
In 1962, THE BEATLES played Irby Village Hall. George Harrison left his Suitcase.
There it remained for nearly 40 years until it came to light, was sold at auction and now resides in
FORT PERCH ROCK MUSEUM, New Brighton.
This is the story of what may have happened to that suitcase if it had
been discovered and past from hand to hand, with a story all of its own.
Just suppose the magic and spirit of George was somehow in that case and
it influenced the lives of the people it touched…
Let’s Imagine…………
An original drama with a mix of Harrison’s words and music.
The George Harrison Suitcase project was originally an idea by John Gorman who brought together seven local writers, each of whom penned a short vignette. This performance is a showcase of a work–in-progress by three of those writers.
“If I Needed Someone” by Mike Lockley
"Give Me Love” by Bev Clark· NB. This contains language not suitable for young children
With an introduction by Don Webb
George died in 2001 but the magic lives on……………

Thanks also to Thingwall Community Hall.
Since the performance Mike Lockley, David Crosby and Bev Clark have been working on a
re-write to take the project forward as a full length musical for 2011.
